RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS
Rhythmic gymnastics has been an Olympic sport since 1984. The sport at the Olympic level is for females only, but a growing number of males participate. Rhythmic athletes perform with hand apparatus – rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon and all routines are performed to music. The key in rhythmic gymnastics is to combine intricate and complex skills with each apparatus while performing highly skilled floor gymnastic and dance moves. Physical skills developed in rhythmic gymnastics include strength, power, flexibility, agility, dexterity and endurance. Children that like music, creativity, dance and performance are particularly drawn to rhythmic gymnastics.

Beginner Rhythmic Gymnastics (Ages 6 - 17)

Co-ed Students will learn the fundamentals of the rhythmic gymnastics apparatus: ribbon, rope, hoop, ball and clubs. Dance and flexibility skills will be emphasized throughout the course.
