Winter BJJ Open Tournament Submission Only Overview

The Good Fight Tournament jiu-jitsu tournament comes to Aviator Sports on Saturday, December 1st! There are no points, no advantages, no referee decisions & no time limit finals! The Good Fight offers gi and no-gi divisions for kids, teens and adult men and women. Discounted spectator tickets are available online before the events.


  • Kids & Teens Gi & NoGi divisions which are broken up by AGE, SKILL LEVEL & WEIGHT.
  • Female Gi & NoGi divisions are available for adults ages 16 years and older.

Male divisions are as follows:

  • Adult (16-29 years) divisions are available for white, blue & purple belts.
  • Executive (30-39 years) divisions are available white & blue belts.
  • Masters (40+ years) divisions are available for white & blue belts.
  • Executive & Masters (30+ years) division is available for purple belts.
  • A combined age category of 18 yrs. & up is available for brown & black belt in Gi and NoGi.


When you pre-register 2 or more family members or teammates on the same invoice, you automatically receive an additional $5 discount per division.

TEAM DISCOUNT: Bring a team of 10 or more guys. Each competitor pays only: $60 for 1 division or $80 for 2 divisions. To take advantage of this ALL competitors from your team MUST pre-register online; but DON’T pay online. You will pay your discounted team price at the door when you arrive to weigh-in. CASH ONLY.


To receive this discount college students or military should pre-register online WITHOUT PAYING online. When pre-registering online leave the credit card info area completely BLANK, before clicking the ‘submit registration’ button. When you arrive at the tournament to weigh-in you’ll show your college or military ID and pay $60 for 1 division; or $80 for 2 divisions.

Please Note: Any college student or military who show up to register on-site will receive a $20 discount OFF the On-Site registration pricing of $105 for 1 division; or $125 for 2 divisions.


FRIDAY – Night Before Weigh-Ins: 6-8 pm

Night before weigh-ins will be held at Aviator Sports. Weigh-ins will be open to all competitors.
DO NOT BE LATE; scales will close at 8 pm Friday night.


SATURDAY – Day Of Weigh-Ins

If you cannot make it Friday night for weigh-ins, you can weigh-in on Saturday starting at 8 am. Adults can show up earlier than their recommended weigh-in time if they like, but they are not required to. Competitors DO NOT have to weigh-in with their Gi on.


IMPORTANT: You MUST be on time! When planning drive time, please take into account traffic and the possibility of getting lost, so you are not late. If you are late for weigh-ins, you will be disqualified. Below are the times when the scales close for each group:


*Scales close at 9 am for ALL kids & teen competitors.

*Scales close at 12 noon for ALL adult Gi competitors.

*Scales close at 4 pm for ALL adult NoGi competitors.


All pre-registered competitors will receive a free tournament tee shirt when they arrive to check-in for the tournament. The Good Fight does order extra tee shirts. Additional tee shirts will be available for sale for $15. They are available on a first come, first serve basis.


1st, 2nd & 3rd place custom-medals are awarded to placewinners.


2 teams awards. 1 goes to the kids/teens champions. 1 goes to the adult/exec/master champions.

During the tournament, brackets will come out in the same order as the tournament divisions are scheduled above.

You will not be able to see what your bracket looks like until approximately 30 minutes before your division start time.  (Please do not look for your bracket online because we do not post them online, they are made the day of the tournament.)

Brackets are put together throughout the day and their completion times are in accordance with the tournament schedule you see above.

When you are at the tournament, please do not freak out if you don’t see your name on a set of brackets. Look at the bracket very closely and take your time to determine if it is indeed the bracket you should be in in.
