Spring Youth ‘Learn To Ice Skate’ Program

Tuesday Ice Skating Lessons at Aviator Sports teach the fundamentals of ice skating and are the perfect place for beginners to learn how to skate. We provide a fun, positive experience that promotes progressive skating skills for all levels.

Whether you know the basics or not, our ‘Learn to Ice Skate’ Program caters to your baseline and advances you from that point forward. Whatever your goal, from Olympic fame to forming a lifelong hobby with recreational benefits, this is the perfect program for your kids.

Ages: 3-8

Start Date: March 4, 2025

End Date: May 20, 2025

Time:  5:50 p.m. – 6:20 p.m.

Registration fees: $330 for 11 classes

Tuesday Dates: March 4, 2025 – May 20, 2025

NOTE: There will be no ‘Learn to Ice Skate’ Class on Tuesday April 22, 2025.

‘Learn to Ice Skate’ Program includes

  • 30 minutes of instruction
  • Free ice skate rentals (for students)

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • Liability waiver MUST be signed before the class
  • No makeup classes
  • NO CLASSES will be carried over into the next semester
  • The maximum class size is 20 students.
  • We test skaters in order that they may advance to the next level.
  • We reserve the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration.
  • Private lessons and semi– private lessons from our professional staff are available during the 1/2 hour of practice. (Saturdays only)
  • We strongly advise all students to wear helmets, warm loose clothing, gloves and thin socks or tights. Tots (6 and under) MUST wear a helmet.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of class to get skates and be prepared to enter the ice on time.
  • No Refunds will be given after 1st class attended.

Aviator Ice Academy’s Learn to Skate USA program follows the skating curriculum set by the United States Figure Skating Association Basic Skills program to help participants learn how to ice skate.

Skaters will remain enthusiastic as they learn how to skate. From the start, the program fosters fun and learning in a positive environment of encouraging staff professionals. 

Aviator Sports at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York is proud to be a member of the program, bringing the power of ice skating to local children. Basic and advancing skills like Swizzles, crossovers, and edges help grow their confidence one glide at a time, instilling positivity and personal strength.

Our goal is to facilitate a lifelong love of this sport, by providing certified, passionate instructors, and applying the updated curriculum provided to Learn to Skate USA members. Our program builds solid skill progression, providing success and launching children towards their dreams. Aviator is proud to adopt this curriculum, endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and US Speedskating as well as support from Special Olympics, the Professional Skaters Association, and the U.S. Ice Rink Association,
