The DTS Skills and Scrimmages class will focus on the training of player’s fundamental skills. Significant work will also be done on small sided games and scrimmages.  Players will work on the technical elements of the game such as their first touch, dribbling, individual skills and moves, passing and shooting.

Players will be separated into smaller groups during technical training. By working in small groups this brings the individual into focus, increases the intensity of training, and enables more individual feedback for each player.

Half of each class will focus on scrimmages and game situations in addition to 4v4 and 3v3 drills. During the scrimmages the coaches will break down play to help players work and better understand what was instructed during their class session.

The DTS Skills & Drills classes are based on a combination of foundational skills every soccer all-round players should work on. The basic skills of the best players in the world are the foundation of our Skills & Drills classes. The goal of learning these skills is to overall improve your basic skill level on every asset of the game.

What is taught in this Class:

All DTS Skills & Drills classes are focused on individual development. Starting the Skills & Drills class sessions we mainly focus on full ball control with a combination of dribbling and moves to change into different directions. The class sessions will progress shifting the focus to passing and finishing.

As players are progressing throughout the classes our DTS trainers will teach the players various skills and drills under pressure to constantly challenge the players. Each added move will be more difficult than the previous moves. Passing and finishing will now be performed under full pressure. The goal of the Skills & Drills class is to become more confident with the ball and become an all-round player. We will give all players, regardless of position on the field, the tools to master any situation under pressure and to be confident in situations in front of the goal.

Who should do this Class:

In the Dutch philosophy, every attack starts with the goalkeeper or at least a defender. We think building up from the back is better for the development of the players and much more fun for them. To be able to build up, every players need to be comfortable with the ball. This is one of the things players will learn during the Skills & Drills classes: Being comfortable with the ball. Every player on the field should be able to use a move to keep possession of the ball.

As a general outline we advise the following ages and playing experience for the Skills & Drills classes:

Skills & Drills – Ages 9 to 12 or 1 to 3 years of Travel/Classes experience

Because the class focuses on individual development a difference in age does not affect the learning experience in our classes.

Johan Cruijff said once: “If you don’t shoot, you will never score.” This sounds really easy but is also really true. The aim of soccer is to win the game. You can only win when you score more than the other team does. This makes shooting one of the most important parts of soccer. The Power Shooting classes are created to teach players how to make a powerful but well aimed shot. A shot that can be used to score goals. This class will go through the 7 basics steps in striking the ball correctly with both feet. The player will be taught to understand and recognize mistakes they are making and properly correct them.

What is taught in this Class

There are 2 levels in the Power Shooting classes. In each level the basic principle is the same, but the difficulty is different.

The DTS Power Shooting classes focus on the 7 basic steps of striking.  The mechanics of a powerful and accurate shot will be broken down during this class.

After the Power Shooting 1 class the player should be able to take a powerful shot and correct themselves when their shot is not powerful or accurate.

In the Power Shooting 2 class we will use the same 7 basic steps. The shot the players learned to make in the Power Shooting 1 class is the starting point for the Power Shooting 2 class. In this class we are focusing on how to make a
powerful and accurate shot when the ball is moving. How do you take your shot when the ball is rolling towards you? And what do you have to do when the ball is towards you from the side?

In addition, players will learn how to take the powerful and accurate shot they learned in the previous Power shooting classes under full pressure. We will bring the player into game situation they can face on the field. They will learn how to make the shot in these situations, under pressure of an opponent.

Who should do this Class

Most of the goals scored will be scored by forwards and midfielders, but that doesn’t mean the Power Shooting class is only for players who mainly play in these positions. Because the technique of Power Shooting is also used in passing the class is very good for the general development of every player. When a player mostly plays defense they still have opportunities to shoot and score in games. It doesn’t matter what level the player is playing. On every level you need to score to be able to win the game.

Because of the methodical way we developed the classes the players should have the skills taught in the previous class to proceed to the next class. The player could have learned these skills during the class or elsewhere. As a general outline we advise the following ages and playing experience for the Powershooting classes:

Powershooting 1 & 2 – Ages 7 to 14 or 1 – 3 years of Travel/Classes experience

Because the class focuses on individual development a difference in age does not affect the learning experience in our classes.

The DTS Developmental Soccer League program will focus on the development and fundamentals of a soccer player in an unpressured environment.

The program is open to soccer players from the age of 5 to 12 years old.

The aim of the program is to install a sense of enjoyment for playing soccer in a competitive environment and will be a perfect addition to soccer Junior and Skills classes DTS offers.

The league comprises of small-sided games working in teams of 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5.

By using these small-sided games players are encouraged to take more touches on the ball which is a key element in their pathway to becoming a better soccer player.
